Big Island, Hawaii: Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff Condo Resort Review

Believe it or not, one of my favorite things to do when visiting all the Hawaiian islands in the past few years was staying in different hotel/resort/condo accommodations every few days.  Because we packed so lightly, it was so easy to zip up our suitcase and head on over to another part of the island and take in their amenities and surroundings.  Our second place to rest on the Big Island of Hawaii was the Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff, and our stay in this individually owned condo was so much more than we’d expected.

Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff rises high above the ocean’s edge on a dramatic lava rock bluff, offering a panoramic view of the Kona Coast on Hawaii, the Big Island.  The terraced design of this residential resort condo affords privacy to individual accommodations.  Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff is just 1 mile to Kona Town where deep-sea fishing charters, scuba and snorkel tours, shopping, and casual dining are available.

When staying in a condo on vacation, you really get a feeling of being at “home” with all the amenities of a kitchen, living room, and bedrooms that offer plenty of space and comfort.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t look forward to cooking a meal while on vacation, but the option is nice especially if you’re traveling with your whole family.

Our condo was equipped with lovely Hawaiian decor and wall art that I absolutely loved and would love to have in my home back in California!  Walking out to the lanai you’ll find chaise lounge chairs and a table/chairs all for outdoor dining and entertaining with an amazing view of the ocean and nightly stunning sunsets.

The master bedroom was large with more of the lovely decor, plenty of space, and a cozy chair for reading on a rainy night like one we experienced!

Bathrooms are large with our condo sporting a lovely tile shower (for two!), and I always enjoy Outrigger for their in-room washer/dryer!  Say goodbye salt-water stink on your towels and swimwear, not to mention another reason to pack lightly!!

Also, like many resorts and hotels, the property offers some complimentary activities during the week.  During our stay we loved and enjoyed Thursday Movie Night!  A movie based in/on Hawaii for the guests’ pleasure plays on a large screen right next to the south pool!  You can sit at a table, lounge on a chaise or float in the pool while you watch, not too shabby!  To benefit the entire family, individually bagged popcorn, candy, and soda is offered, all at no additional charge!  Our movie was Blue Hawaii with Elvis, my hubby and I had never seen the movie and it was hilarious, cute, and boy was Elvis gorgeous back in the day!  This made our night!

I don’t want to forget to mention there are two pools on the property, both with gas grills for bbqing!

Finally, a walk around the resort will have you taken in by the greenery and amazing views!  Also, a game room with pool table, books, videos and more will make the kids smile!
