I think you can tell a lot about a resort from it’s lobby. The Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad, California has an entrance that exudes elegance, class, and comfort. Talk about a grand entrance:
Our family had a chance to experience the stunning hotel during our trip to the Kia Classic last weekend. The golf tournament was held on the resort’s adjacent golf course. Reaching our room, we were pleased by the amount of space. So much so, that we were able to accommodate a roll away safely in the large room so we all had a comfortable bed.The patio off the bedroom had a beautiful view of the grounds and nightly photo-worthy sunsets. The morning we checked out we noticed tables and chairs had been set up on the lawn just below the room and we were surprised how even with our sliding door slightly open, there was no commotion or disturbance as we slept or early in the morning.
Traveling with our children, we appreciate family-friendly amenities. The pool area (complete with toys to borrow, floaties, and goggles if needed) was lovely with a water temperature of about 80 at all times. During the day you can order food and drinks complete with waiters, and there is a “kid’s cafe” eating area to call their own. You’ll also find a spray water feature and wading pool also for the littlest of kids. In this outdoor “family section” you’ll also find a glorious hot tub!Adult-only options are available to relax as well just down the steps from the Lagoon pool you’ll find the Tranquility pool with a grand bar, private cabanas, and another whirlpool (also adults-only).The views from the deck oversee Batiquitos Lagoon and the Pacific in the clear distance.
The flora and fauna around the property were lovely wafting an amazing scent throughout our walks on the grounds. Certain areas you are able to spy the Aviara Golf Course below.
More fun for the kids (and parents) are the game rooms. Complete with pool, air hockey, foosball, shuffleboard, and playstation, we all got our game on. I’m not going to hide it, I love pool and I am pretty good.
Our timing was tight as far as scheduling so we ordered in two meals via room service which was exceptional. Dinner of burgers, green salad, caprese. My kids ordered chicken and steak from the child’s menu and everything was out of this world! Breakfast was the same, delicious and I love how they bring a toaster to toast bagels and bread so they don’t get cold on the way over. Our first night I met a few bloggers for cocktails, and one of them even had a meal served in the Lobby Lounge that came in a timely manner and I heard was delicious!
Kia Motors vehicles were displayed in front of the hotel during the weekend, and ours that was loaned for the week blended right in.
Overall, the staff was so very attentive, housekeeping, room service, front desk, pool area staff all met our needs or helped find answers to our questions. Our only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer! When in the area for golf, or heading to vacation at Legoland, look into the Park Hyatt Aviara!
Our stay, meals, and valet were covered by Kia, all opinions our own.
