Dubai is perhaps best known as a massive center of commerce and luxury, but it’s also quite literally one of the hottest tourist destinations of recent years. Every year, millions of people travel to this Middle Eastern hub from all across the globe, seeking sun, shops and attractions they won’t find anywhere else.
Let’s take a look at just why the so-called ‘City of Gold’ has become so popular:
Climate
Perhaps the most desirable of all the glamorous and desirable Dubai attractions on offer is simply, the sun. The tropical climate boasts year-round sunshine and warm temperatures, with winter highs typically a comfortable 75°F. This makes the city a very attractive vacation spot at any time of the year.
Surrounded by the sea, Dubai is a great place to hit the beach. You can relax on the white sand, or try your hand at various water sports, including parasailing, diving, snorkeling and kayaking. Those with less activity in mind can simply hop on board a boat cruise to feel the sea breeze and take in the incredible views.
Shopping
Shopping in Dubai is not to be taken lightly! You’ll find the world’s finest luxury brands as well as elaborate malls and shopping centers. Even if you’re just window shopping, the Dubai Mall is the place to be. With over 1000 stores, it’s become a tourist attraction in its own right. Not to mention the Dubai Aquarium, Underwater Zoo and Olympic-sized Ice Rink on hand!
The Dubai Design District, a new development in the heart of the city, is Dubai’s proof to the world that it is ready and willing to become one of the globe’s biggest hubs for high fashion. Located near the Dubai Mall, this district is set to expand upon the already luxurious feel of the city.
Location
Dubai has, in part, become the tourist hotspot it is today because of its location. The emirate is located between Europe, Asia and Australia, making it the perfect stopover destination while in route between these regions.
Many travelers will fly to Dubai, spend a few days shopping and sightseeing, and then continue on to their final destination. The centrality of the city makes it attractive, and accessible, by those on business and holidaymakers alike.
Family
Finally, Dubai has emerged as a family-friendly tourist destination as well. Kids will undoubtedly enjoy playing on the beach and in the sea and many of Dubai’s top hotels include wonderful children’s facilities. You’ll find pools, water parks and aquariums nearby, or even in the hotel itself, proving there’s never a shortage of things to do and see.
So, if you’re looking for a relaxing, scenic and kid-friendly vacation, try Dubai!
