With all the travel I’ve been doing in the past few years, picking a hotel has become a matter of being, well…picky! You have to be these days to get the quality of service you deserve for the right price! Even if it’s only for less than 24 hours, a hotel should be a safe haven and home away from home that you would want to come back to and it should have all the things you need at your fingertips!
The Omni San Francisco was just the place I needed to stay in right before I headed out of state last month. It’s close proximity to the airport (20 minutes) was a bonus because that place can be a zoo to navigate and getting through security can be a lengthy process! Shopping abounds withing walking distance to Union Square and also a short jaunt to the Ferry Building, Chinatown, and North Beach. Cable Cars stop at the corner of California and Montgomery so tuck your keys away and enjoy the city life!
I believe highly in the Omni name, I’ve stayed with them before, including one of their resorts outside of the US and I can tell you their hospitality transcends overseas! After getting our car in the hands of the valet and being pleasantly greeted at the door, we made our way through the elegant Florentine Renaissance architecture in the lobby. Parched, I headed for the strawberry water that was as good as it was beautiful! Also it pleased me to see that the Omni teams with organizations like the American Heart Association and their donation tree was a beautiful centerpiece of support.
The staff were all polite, efficient, and helpful, but as I am every time I visit San Francisco, I was was eager for the view from our room! The concrete landscape about the city is phenomenal and I was thrilled when we saw the tip of the TransAmerica Pyramid and even got a peek of the bay from the window.
The room had me at plush beds, also included Chinese marble vanities in the bath, mini bar for those late night cravings, a 42 inch flatscreen, Nespresso coffee machine, and beautiful crown molding to tie the room together. With a bottle of wine and a meat and cheese plate, I was ready to get to work at the desk, while my husband relaxed on the nearby chair and ottoman. Simple things like enough seating where you don’t have to lay on the bed is nice! Also, the artwork in the room was neat, lovers of the Golden Gate as well as the bay skyline was a very nice touch.Something I’ve never seen a room before? A Get Fit Kit! A canvas bag sat below the television and it had all the makings of a workout without leaving your room! Inside the bag was a floor mat, two dumbbells and an elastic exercise band, also refreshing bottles of chilled water and hand towels. Also, a sound machine was in a baggie similar to where you’d find the hair dryer (so don’t over look it). You don’t have to worry about any street noise, the room is silent at night, but if you enjoy white noise or crave ocean waves, this is perfect for you! They really think of everything!
You don’t have to leave the hotel for dinner, Bob’s Steak & Chop House is open for 3 meals a day, but also there’s a plethora of choices all within walking distance. Upon return to our room for the night a delightful chocolate was placed on our bed during turndown service which we found out was from a local chocolatier, Tcho. (I found this same chocolate at another hotel in Kentucky recently, needless to say, I’m hooked!) But, the best part of the evening was a note from housekeeping left on the desk. Handwritten and sweet, simple yet powerful:The Omni San Francisco was a quick yet perfect getaway before a getaway and I can’t wait to go back! Though I had to leave before the sun rose for a flight, the staff and the valet were alert and pleasant to deal with and had everything I needed for a fast checkout! Whether you’re traveling or in the city for business or leisure, look up Omni San Francisco for a perfect stay from check in to check out!
Our stay was hosted, gratuities and opinions all our own.

I LOVE that they have a sound machine already in the room, and it doesn’t have to be requested. Plus, the views look awesome!
