Just over the California-Nevada Stateline in South Lake Tahoe, you’ll find a series of high-rise hotels worth looking into. Now I love gambling, I’ve admitted that before but honestly my vacations are never centered around that one activity. That’s why I love hotels in Lake Tahoe, they offer so much more but still you get a chance to try your luck just an elevator ride away. If you’re indeed a gamer, then you have a few great casino hotels to choose from. If you like the whole package (casino, spa, shows, shopping, dining), then bonus for you when you check into the Montbleu Resort Casino & Spa! All 437 rooms and suites at the Montbleu have been completely renovated in the past two years and offer luxurious accommodations at reasonable prices. Walking into our Deluxe King room, we were immediately impressed by the size. It was spacious with a desk (that included a fridge and drawers space within) and two chairs on one wall, a whole wall of windows that create an even bigger space, plus the king bed with side tables. The decor was simple but clean.
Though we didn’t have a lake view, this was the view from our floor near the elevators of the nearby golf course and Lake Tahoe.
Our mountain view included sights of Heavenly Ski Resort.
The bathroom mirror’s backlighting was a lovely touch, then you approach the shower…Doorless and with enough room for two, the entire bathroom has a romantic vibe for a couples’ getaway! Montbleu has the only Four Diamond restaurant in the South Shore, Ciera Steak + Chophouse. There are also more great dining options in Café del Soul, The Buffet and MontBleu Café, with many of them offering great specials each week!
We had a full itinerary on our visit, but we did have a chance to try breakfast at Café del Soul, and their chorizo and egg burrito is top-notch with enough food for two to share!
In between the Cafe and the pool, you’ll find some shops that fit all your traveling needs. A market for anything you may have forgotten at home, a sport shop to get your last minute lake or slope necessities, a cigar shop to indulge, and a flirty shop that will make your trip an extra special adventure!
The lagoon style pool is something out of a fairy tale, if you’re on a family adventure the kids will thank you! Tons of seating both inside and outside, plus showers for rinsing off, you’ll love this pool all year round!
Even the whimsical shape of the spa is a fun spot to wind down after a long day outdoors.
For an even better vacation, you need to make time to visit Onsen Salon & Spa.

Concerts of all types can be found at Montbleu, comedians, and festivals of different types. My girlfriends and I attended a Beer Festival a few years ago (though we didn’t stay at the hotel) at the Outdoor Event Center and it was a blast. This year’s Hop’s in the Yard Beer Fest is actually happening this weekend, August 19.

Nice! I haven’t been on a vacation in such a long time so this really looks terrific to me.
