You know you love cheese when…you’re invited to an event in a city that’s predicting 106 degree heat and it’s only 86 at home! We do, we absolutely love cheese, we love Tillamook cheese and were thrilled to head to Sacramento and participate in the Loaf Love Tour!
In it’s 3rd year traveling around in the cutest YUM 1 Baby Loaf bus, the Loaf Love Tour takes the tastiest cheeses to stores and locales up and down the west coast. Cheese for the people is something I stand by and support and who wouldn’t want to have lunch with Tillamook cheese?
Prior to the luncheon, we had a chance to experience the zoo and it’s amazing animals, our favorite by far is this snow leopard who just had the most perfect pose for us!Thank goodness for the misters, as we walked the zoo we came up on the cheese sampling table, pepper jack, extra sharp cheddar, and a smoke black pepper were given and they were all good. The pepper jack was my favorite because I love that jalepeno zing. I love a good spice and that would liven up the most basic of sandwiches. The extra sharp cheddar was nice too I’d pair that with a crisp pinot grigio or chardonnay any day!
For the kids we enjoyed the mustaches and smiley faces along with the face and body painting. Games were afoot and thank heavens for those water bottle misters, boy was it the hottest day ever!! Poor Loafy the Cheese Loaf, I’m so glad he didn’t melt, we didn’t bring the chips for nachos (har har).
The grilled cheese contest was a highlight, all of us chimed in on the ingredients mostly toppings on our favorite pizza and then my 6 year old name it, but of course…
Something I didn’t know about Tillamook…they make AH-MAZING ice cream. Vanilla bean and Tillamook Mudslide, can you say fudge ripple…there are no words, just groans of love.
Meeting the Tillamook Ambassadors and the great PR at Soda Pop was really cool, what fun jobs they have. Also, my good blogging friend Stefanie was there with her sweet kids!
Lovely day with a high yum factor, thank you Tillamook for everything plus a set of amazing coupons, look what I bought when we got home!
Find out where the Loaf Love tour is off to next here, http://www.tillamook.com/community/loaflovetour/schedule.html looks like the Bay Area for the next few weeks.
Check them out at the San Francisco Zoo tomorrow 8/25, the first 100 fans wearing Tillamook orange will get in to the zoo for FREE! Those after 100 receive $1 off your ticket!
We were treated to a luncheon, games, coupons, and admission to the zoo at no cost. All opinions are 100% ours.

Looks like you guys had a blast 🙂 My family and I love Tillamook Cheese! We were fortunate enough to have toured the plant in Oregon on vacation a few years ago and it was very interesting to say the least. I fell in love with Tillamook cheese and ice cream when we tried their free samples and now it’s the only cheese I buy for my family.
