I love to travel with my husband, he’s the yin to my yang when it comes to exploring new places or heading back to familiar locations we know and love. Next month we are taking a long weekend together and heading to Las Vegas. We’ve been there a few times, but only once alone without the kids. It’s a different world when you can explore as a couple, go to bed and rise when you want, eat and drink to your heart’s content, and just enjoy being adults!
This time around, one of the spots we’re staying is the JW Marriott Resort and Spa. Marriott International is a leading hospitality company with over 3,800 properties in over 74 countries and territories around the world. It’s a brand we know and trust and even though it’s a drive from the Strip, we love their great rates, we’ve gotten the rate that includes breakfast, and are looking forward to comfort as well as the spa treatment I’m going to indulge in!
So what does my hubby like to do? He’s big into comedy and just today I purchased tickets for Penn and Teller off of Travelzoo.com at 40% off the going rate! It’s going to be his Christmas present, so I’m thrilled to include something he loves and he’ll be proud I found such a great deal!
Last year when we visited we utilized the Deuce bus system about the Strip and it was really economical and easier than walking from one end to the other. This time around we’re renting a car from the airport. Renting through our airline loyalty program, we got a great deal and we accumulate points to use for future flights! My husband is big on exploring so he’s already planned a 5 hour round-trip drive to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon.
One other thing that we do to combine “dinner and a show” is sit outside on the Strip and people watch. Sounds silly, but last year we dined alfresco, enjoyed a great meal, and watched people clad in costume, newlyweds, bachelorette/bachelor party groups, and more stroll by and their antics can often be priceless!

I love the ideas in the Infographic, especially that Fremont Street has lower minimums at the casino tables! With our rental car, driving over won’t be too tough. A trip to Vegas can be so fun and affordable if you plan ahead!
