The summer is my favorite time of year for so many reasons. Who doesn’t love the amazing California weather which means spending beach days with the family, weekly swim dates at grandma’s pool, and then there are all the fun summer parties! We’ve probably hosted and been invited to about a half-dozen parties already and one of my biggest challenges is the menu. With the rise of Pinterest and all it’s creative ideas, I tend to stress out a bit when it comes to making desserts. In order to enjoy more time socializing and less time in the kitchen I’ve turned to my new go-to dessert from the frozen aisle in Walmart, EDWARDS® Whole pies!
My sister-in-law throws fun parties and she has become known for her Fourth of July events. Photo booths, jump houses, and an amazing BBQ by day, fireworks at night and her food table is always full of creative munchies. This year she focused on fun red, white, and blue jelled desserts that she documented on her Facebook page, having a blast in the multi-staged process.
I, on the other hand went for a chocolate dessert that was just as beautiful and just as delicious. From the freezer to the fridge for a few hours of thawing and then out on the dessert table, my EDWARDS® HERSHEY’S® Chocolate Crème Pie was amazing!
Just this last weekend, my youngest daughter was invited to a Girl Scout swim party. I know how much she loves chocolate so I wasn’t surprised when she begged me to bring yet another EDWARDS® HERSHEY’S® Chocolate Crème Pie to the party. Amongst the dipped fruit and sprinkled treats, I was asked if I had made the Edwards pie and was flattered. It’s such a beautiful pie, I blushed and told them that for less than $5.00 it’s the best tasting dessert on the table! Many people came back to me and agreed over the course of the party!
After swim time, I had a slice waiting for my daughter.
With chocolate chips, whipped cream, silky chocolate, drizzled with chocolate sauce and a delicious cookie crust the pie has layers of texture and flavor in every bite.
When we’re not devouring chocolate, another favorite we’ve found is the EDWARDS® Key Lime Pie that we enjoyed for a refreshing snack at grandma’s one weekday afternoon. I love the citrus kick each bite has and the sweet cookie crust is so delicious. Like the photo on the box, I plan to grate some lime zest on top of pie next time for some added color and flavor!

So I’m not spending hours planning and executing a dish this summer, but I am going to bring a quality dessert to the table every time. Edwards pies will have you bringing easy desserts for summer parties and allowing for more fun and less stress! Have you had and Edwards pie? If not, which of the flavors would you and your family like best?

I have had most of these pies, and there isn’t one that I didn’t love. I even liked the Key Lime enough to buy it again, which I didn’t think I would.
