Last night we had the opportunity to see a screener of Disney’s Tangled in 3D, a take on the classic Rapunzel. Though we never watch movies in 3D, due to the sensitive stomachs of my children and the $2.50 extra ticket charge, this movie was spectacular in it!
The story:
Walt Disney Pictures presents “Tangled,” one of the most hilarious, hair-raising tales ever told. When the kingdom’s most wanted—and most charming—bandit Flynn Rider (voice of Zachary Levi) hides out in a mysterious tower, he’s taken hostage by Rapunzel (voice of Mandy Moore), a beautiful and feisty tower-bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair. Flynn’s curious captor, who’s looking for her ticket out of the tower where she’s been locked away for years, strikes a deal with the handsome thief and the unlikely duo sets off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse, an over-protective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs. In theaters this holiday season in Disney Digital 3D, “Tangled” is a story of adventure, heart, humor and hair—lots of hair.
Our Take: The movie, like most Disney features was fabulous, a huge thumbs up from all 5 of us in the family. There were times when my 4 year old giggled so much I thought she’d bust. When Rapunzel smacks Flynn on the head with the frying pan when she finds him entering her castle and then proceeds to find ways to hide him from her “mother” and he flops around unconscious had all of us in stitches! The chameleon Pasquale is the cutest sidekick, though he doesn’t talk, his squeaks, expressions, and mannerisms speak 1000 words and leave you wanting one as your very own pet. The thugs in the pub were a funny addition to the story, with the Mime and the drunk cupid leaving us tears from laughing so hard. The 3D was done so very well, and with the new style glasses, I loved looking over to my daughter during the lantern scene in the boat as we were all trying to “catch” them in our hands as they floated towards us!
Tangled comes out in theaters tomorrow, November 24, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Whether you are a 3D fan or not, you must take your family to see it!
We were given passes to attend a screener of the movie, opinions are our 100% tried and true experience.
