I’m a tea lover, in the cold months, I love hot tea and I can drink iced tea year-round for a refreshing pick me up. When in restaurants, it’s my go to drink over a carbonated drink though I do tend to add sweeteners to it. Lipton Tea & Honey is a new way to enjoy the flavors of sweet tea, stay hydrated, and not take in too many calories or artificial sweeteners!
- The tea is only 5 calories per 8 oz serving
- The tea is sweetened with honey
- The tea is made from real tea leaves and real fruit flavors
- Tea flavors include: Lemon, Peach Apricot, Black Currant Raspberry, Blackberry Pomegranate, Mango Pineapple, and Strawberry Acai Decaffinated Iced Green Tea
On our way out of the house to baseball practice, I grabbed a bottle of water for my son and I quickly mixed a package of the Blackberry Pomegranate for myself. The ruby red color was appealing right off the bat, you have to shake the mix up really well, it’s slower to dissolve. One quick taste before I jumped in the car and I was shocked! The sweet berry flavor and the kiss of honey was SO good! Five calories and no need to add any extra sweetener, this is my new summer go-to drink!
If you know me, you know I’m in love with the Hawaiian Islands, and let me tell you the mango pineapple flavored tea takes me to the beach in Maui. The tropical flavor with the sweet addition of honey makes your tongue tingle and is so good. I will take this drink poolside this summer as well as picnics on the beach and have that taste take my mind back to the islands!
Staying Hydrated
Living in California we get sun all year ’round, but the heat in the summer can be deceiving. Being outdoors playing, swimming, or even daily chores in the summer sun can expose you to dehydration quickly if you don’t pay close attention. Having the kids home and out of school, I try to maintain a healthy routine and one is to buy lots of water and less sugary drinks and soda! This way, when it’s time for a drink we go for water, or water sweetened with Lipton Tea & Honey.
If we head to grandma’s to swim, everyone must pack a water bottle to take. A full 8 oz glass should be consumed with each meal, and most importantly when heading out to sports practice (my son plays baseball year-round as the girls dance year-round). Also we’re on the road a lot during the summer months, I like to keep a gallon jug of water or a case of water bottles in the car at all times!
