Our Take: (via my 12 year old daughter), I like Prom because it’s about the struggles of teens and I can relate to that. My favorite part of the movie was the beginning because everything was perfect, but then it all came crashing down. It’s drama filled, but it all comes together in the end. I watched it with my friends and the music (Taio Cruz and Katy Perry) is all great songs we’ve heard and like. The characters and actors are new so it was interesting, not like watching all the Disney channel kids all over again. (from mom): I thought the movie was very age appropriate and not too cheesy. It got me a little anxious about my daughter’s entry into high school next year and memories of my experience there as well as the 4 proms I attended. I, on the other hand am used to movies with familiar faces, so I did have a hard time adapting to the characters. Bonus for me was, just last weekend I met and photographed an actor from the film, Nolan Sotillo–Lucas at the Lion King 3D premiere that made me reconnect with this movie. I have to watch it again!
Movie was sent for honest review.
