Visiting the quaint historic town of Astoria Oregon sometime soon? Here’s where we stayed and dined during our 3 day, 2 night adventure.
Best Western Lincoln Inn
This is a great spot to stay when visiting Astoria. The rooms are large and comfortable with the necessary amenities plus free wi-fi. 
We had a nice view of the Columbia River from our window. The location was in walking distance to town and even shorter distance to the trolley. Though on a brisk day you may want to just cozy up in the hotel.
There’s a ‘library’ for book check out, comfy chairs and a computer. 
There is a fabulous indoor pool and hot tub for those cold and wet days. 
Each evening you are treated to hot baked cookies. 
The full breakfast that offers breads, bagels, muffins, cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, waffles, eggs, sausage, and oatmeal (included with your stay) is ample to start each day! We would definitely stay there again on a future trip to the area.
Location and hours were something we didn’t take into consideration when we sought out dining options in Astoria. Because we were on our own (sans children) our schedule wasn’t strict on early meals and we found out the hard way that establishments shut their kitchens down about 8pm mid-week. Our first night we were starved but luckily found ourselves back at a restaurant we had already enjoyed at lunch. Also, we discovered that the Astoria Riverfront Trolley only runs on the weekends before Memorial Day, so needless to say we got our exercise walking to town. Now we know for our next trip!
Fort George Brewery
Looking for a spot for lunch in the area, anything paired with “Brewery” is high on our list. We’ve become more aware of different beers in our recent travels and since we walked to town from our hotel, we are more inclined to indulge! With indoor and outdoor seating available you can get some great food at Fort George Brewery. 
We started off with their Nut Red Ale, I’m leaning toward amber ales these days and this one was a treat. Scarlet in color and not too sweet, we loved this beer and had a second round. Lunch had us sharing plates of jalepeno poppers that had the needed kick that complimented our mild beer. The strawberry jam was a great dipping sauce to also tame down the spice. We also shared a 1/3 lb. burger cooked to our liking with a cup of clam chowder! 
The prices are great for lunch and since the town closes up early during the week, we found ourselves back for a late dinner! Up the spiral staircase that during the day has great views of the Columbia, we enjoyed a half-veggie half-pepperoni pizza. The veggie side had delicious artichokes and sweet peppers on it and we both opted for a local white wine instead of beer this time! Great atmosphere, great food and open late, we will be back!
Fulio’s Pastaria
We’re suckers for Italian cuisine and found Fulio’s downtown to be a great dinner choice on our second night. We had a window seat and watched the rain come down as we enjoyed a cocktail. It was like dessert first with my key lime martini hold the whip. 
Then we were served ciabatta with oil and balsamic vinegar dipping sauce, I could probably enjoy that all night long alone! But, I’m so glad I didn’t. After house and Caesar salads, we had some amazing fare. First, my hot bubbling lasagne with meat sauce was to die for. I’m not exaggerating one bit! The top was a hardened crust of cheese that you cracked like a creme brulee to find the saucy, meaty pasta goodness beneath. I swore I couldn’t eat the whole thing but alas I did.
My husband’s 10oz. sirloin was gigantic, almost like two served with spinach and oven roasted potatoes. We sampled eachother’s dinner and both agreed that lasagne was an award winner!
Wet Dog Cafe and Brewery
With a small town on the Columbia River, you’re bound to have a great view from anywhere and at Wet Dog there is no exception. The riverfront out the window and during the summer months thru fall, you can enjoy the view on the deck. On this rainy day, we enjoyed the view from inside. You’ll find a great collection of beers (producing 800 barrels annually) available from the Astoria Brewing Company, we would have loved to have indulged but we were driving back to the airport that day so it was coke and ice tea for us.
The atmosphere was fun, the restaurant decorated like a surf shop with a great souvenir shop inside the building. Another Pacific Northwest day of gloom had us warming up to clam chowder and sharing a Brewhouse Club sandwich and fries. Great place, prices were reasonable and the food was good, we’d come back to try the beers for sure!

The “Maple” zip line even offers a chance to take a dunk in the water, so to speak. Lengthening the lanyard can allow you to dip low enough for a hand or foot drag in the water. If the guides bounce you a bit, your bottom and bounce through the water too! 
You can find tons of Goonies memorabilia (including Data’s jacket, bike, and even Baby Ruth’s for sale in the store) inside the museum as well as the getaway Jeep parked out front of the museum complete with bullet holes in the back!
Also, create your very own movies with live sets to record and edit complete with props. Here you won’t need too much longer than an hour’s time. Admission is $6/adults and $2/kids ages 6-17.
