When I think about the chance to visit some theme parks, I think once a year, often once in a lifetime, holidays, family vacations, and birthdays, don’t you? What about taking a theme park a step further and enjoying it in a fun and educational way, that’s how my kids would convince me to go! Well Sea World has offered us the opportunity of a lifetime and I could not pass this up!
This weekend, the five of us will be heading down to Sea World in San Diego for a Mr. Popper’s Penguins Sleepover Extravaganza! So where does the “once in a lifetime” or “educational” part come in? Well let me just say that we will be sleeping IN the Penguin encounter, like a campout, sleeping bags and all!! There are going to be tons of activities that surround the movie’s debut to Blu-ray/DVD (December 6th) as well as learning all about the 300 Gentoo in the Sea World exhibit!
Sound thrilling, you can do it too, check out the Education Programs at Sea World page on their website, and see how you can have the experience to check off your bucket list! The next morning we will explore the Freshwater Aquarium, feed the seals and sea lions and even get enjoy the park as a family! Seriously, I can’t believe the opportunities I have had the chance to experience.
Stay tuned for my recap on this most excellent adventure!
Our adventure is hosted, travel to and from the venue will be self-provided. All experiences and opinions are our own!

That sounds so fun and educational. My daughter loves Sea World especially the sting rays. I think she would sleep with them ;).

That sounds fun! Can’t wait for the update. And the SW Penguin pen is pretty stinky over here (LOL) … I am curious about the smell when you post an update when you sleep over.
The Mom Jen says
hadn’t thought of that…i have a super sensitive sniffer too.

Your review was a year ago – how was the smell? I am thinking of signing up for a sleepover but have heard the penguins are pretty stinky!
The Mom Jen says
No smell that I recall, it was cold, be prepared. The penguins are behind glass so there wouldn’t be a smell. Truly.
