If you ask me what I’d like for Christmas, or perhaps my 40th birthday coming up in February, I’m going to tell you it’s going to be something from Cloud 9 Living! My husband and I had a variety of excursions to choose from in the San Francisco Bay Area. We decided to climb aboard the California Hornblower at Pier 3 and enjoy a lovely Champagne Brunch Cruise on the bay. It was the first weekend in November and probably the nicest time of year in the city. The weather was an incredible 72 degrees and clear as a bell. We waited a short time before we checked in to our cruise, they ask to arrive 30 minutes ahead and they board right on time. I had my printed Cloud 9 Living certificate with confirmation number and that was collected as we received our table number.
Every seat on the boat is a good one, prime seats are near a window with the Bay Bridge in the background. Just after you’re seated, the champagne starts flowing. Whether you enjoy your bubbly straight or mixed with orange juice for a mimosa, your glass never goes empty the entire cruise.
The buffets are set in stations and some of the choices are the traditional breakfast foods like eggs, bacon, fruit, and french toast. On top of that, other brunch salads like cous cous with prawns and polynesian chicken & noodle salad are offered along with a carving station of fresh turkey and ham. Make room for dessert if you can, fresh baked cookies, cakes, pies, and other delectable items are yours for the choosing.
The majority of our meal was enjoyed while still docked in port. Once people took a break to peruse the ship and take in the sights we headed on our way towards the Golden Gate Bridge.
On our way we took in the sights such as Coit Tower, the TransAmerica Building, both the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges, and Alcatraz Island.
As I mentioned, the weather was spectacular and aided in the romance of the warm breeze in our hair, the calm waters of the Bay, and our time together. Can you see how the gulls above make a heart with their beaks??
The two hour cruise is a wonderful event for locals like us and would make a fabulous gift for the holidays or any other special occasion.
