Being a blogger, writer, and self-proclaimed social media addict, my cell phone with data plan is a huge part of my life. It’s a part of me, like an appendage so I take care of it like my baby. With that, I need to have a case that protects it and Otterbox iPhone cases have yet to fail me.
The newest in Otterbox protection is the Armor Series for iPhone 4/4S. With 4 layers of protection, the Armor Series is waterproof, drop proof, dust proof, and crush proof! How can I not feel confident doing just about everything with my phone with this kind of case?
Now, I’m not going to jump in the pool with my phone, but I wouldn’t be lying if I told you that I know people whose phone fell right into their cup of coffee, into the toilet, or into the sink. Stranger things have happened, right? This case is substantial in size and protection and would be great for just about anyone and anywhere you want to take your phone.
Features:
Water-tight latches, patented O-ring technology, port covers, and mesh coverings tolerate submersions for 30 minutes in up to 6.6 feet of water
Exterior features advanced materials that protect from drops up to 10 feet
Non-permeable membranes and protective mesh layer keep harmful elements out while allowing sound to pass through
High-strength reinforced plastic to withstand crushing forces up to 2 tons
Soft interior foam provides a cushioned, custom fit for the device
Corrosion-resistant metal latches lock the two halves of the case together
Built-in screen protector prevents scratches and damage to the glass display
Weight:
Case only: 120 g
With iPhone 4/4S: 263 g
The case has some weight to it once you put your phone in it. It may not fit in your pocket and may be a hand-full in your hand but you can be sure it’s safe from the elements. Phone calls and listening to music is slightly muffled with the charging opening closed, louder and crisper with it opened. Latches, volume, and ringer off/on switch are a little more of and effort to toggle but gets easier as you get used to it. I notice I do have to adjust brightness more than usual outdoors and to take pictures, as I usually have it low to preserve the battery.
Our grey and bright green case would work fine for my husband and I don’t mind it on my phone, I don’t need girly or pink. I have had other Otterbox cases and I’m used to their slightly bulky nature but prefer them to slim line cases that can leave my phone vulnerable.
*Update..after a few weeks of use, I noticed scratches to the back side of the case from wear and tear. The surface can be scratched with a fingernail, it’s very sensitive. Also, while speaking on the speakerphone, I’ve had complaints of static and muffling more and more.
The Armor Series sells for $99.95 and comes in the following colors:
- iPhone 4/4S: Neon (slate gray outside with glow green inside)
- iPhone 5: Arctic (white outside and breeze blue inside)

I haven’t seen these new ones yet. I have an older Otterbox case for my 4S (can’t remember what series it came from!) and a Lifeproof box—that I’m currently using!
