This time last year we spent near a week in New York City exploring the iconic and historical sites. Earlier this month we headed back to New York, but this time somewhere polar opposite, upstate. Our ultimate destination was Cooperstown for my son’s baseball tournament, so we flew into Albany and knew we had to visit the state capitol!I have to admit, my husband and I both had the same reaction…it looks like Hogwarts from the Harry Potter movies. Maybe I just haven’t been in too many capitol buildings, but the architecture was stunning. From the view from outside, to the carved staircases, chandeliers, and ceiling murals, it was pretty impressive. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize how fascinating it would be and we only put 20 minutes on our parking meter. We did the speed-tour and then had to get on the road. Wow!! I love the intricate details and history of the building you captured. I thought it was cool from the outside. Love being able to see the world through another’s eyes. Thanks for sharing.

HA! Before I even got to where you said it looked like Hogwarts, I was totally thinking, “Hey, this could have been Hogwarts!” Salt Lake City’s got a building there that reminds me of it too.
