It’s that time of year for our household. Does sneezing, congestion, itchy and watery eyes, sound familiar? It’s allergy season and the majority of my family struggles with our love to be outside for sports and activities but the pain of being exposed to so many allergens. As soon as those beautiful pink blossoms start popping up on trees, we know we’re going to stock up on tissues. We’ve heard to stay indoors between 10am and 4pm to avoid high pollen in the air, but with kids in school and practices and games right after, it’s nearly impossible!
Did You Know:
• An estimated 50 million Americans suffer from allergies (1 in 5 Americans)*
• Allergy is the fifth leading chronic disease in the U.S. among all ages, and the third most common chronic disease among children under 18 years old**
• Eye allergies happen when airborne allergens and other particles land directly on the surface of the eye, causing irritation and redness; subsequently, the body reacts to the substance by flooding the eyes with tears and mucus
Some of the triggers are pollen, grass, weeds, dust, and mold for our family and we were sent Visine-A Eye Allergy Relief Eye Drops to help soothe our eyes this Spring.
• Use VISINE®-A® Eye Allergy Relief Eye Drops to temporarily relieve itchy, red eyes due to pollen, ragweed, grass, animal hair and dander
• VISINE®-A® Eye Allergy Relief Eye Drops are clinically proven effective for eye allergy relief
• VISINE®-A® Eye Allergy Relief Eye Drops combine an antihistamine with a redness reliever to temporarily relieve eye itchiness and redness, helping eyes get back to normal
• Use one or two drops of VISINE®-A® Eye Allergy Relief Eye Drops throughout the day as needed to treat symptoms, up to four times a day
First thing in the morning we don’t even wait for the itchiness or redness, we’ve started applying two drops to each eye to start the day. When the kids get home from school, it’s another two drops before sports practices and games, since we’re at the baseball field about 3 times a week. Depending on how the evening goes, another few drops if we’re having a rough time.
The drops are really helping out! Our fingers aren’t in our eyes scratching and potentially making things worse anymore. The red is soothed and we have a good 4 hours before we’re noticing we need a few more drops durig the day. Good thing they can be used up to 4 times a day!
My 15 year old who wears contacts is able to use them too. There are a few tips for those who wear contact lenses:
Contact lens wearers should remove contacts, add VISINE®-A® Eye Allergy Relief Eye Drops, wait for at least 15 minutes, and then place contacts back into the eyes; contact lens wearers should not use VISINE®-A® Eye Allergy Relief Eye Drops while wearing contact lenses
o The 15 minute wait time will allow the eye drops to be absorbed into the eyes before the contacts are put back in
o In addition, contacts should not be placed back in if the eyes are irritated or infected
My daughter and I have a bottle for our make up bags for our daily routine, my son keeps one in his baseball bag for added relief if he’s out on the field. Spring and fall are the worst times for us, so we’ll be stocked up during that time from now on!
