Avocados nourish us inside and out. As a nutrient-dense fruit, they supply nearly 20 vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients, including potassium, vitamins B6, C, E, folate and fiber. Topping your meals with 3 healthy slices will give you a boost of flavor and nutrients for only the cost of 50 calories! Though they are considered “fatty,” they contain the good fats that help lower cholesterol making them a good alternative to foods like dairy and mayonnaise.
Avocados are incredibly delicious, but did you know they aren’t just for guacamole anymore! Have you ever given yourself a facial with Avacados from Mexico?
· Avocados from Mexico are at the peak of their season right now, so they’re extra creamy and perfect for beauty treatments.
· Avocados have unsaturated oils which not only lower our cholesterol but moisturize deep into the skin nourishing us inside and out.
Beauty is skin deep and according to recent studies, our skin absorbs up to 60% of substances applied to its surface. The use of avocados as a beauty regimen dates back to the Aztecs where women used them sliced under their eyes to reduce puffiness and also to protect their skin from the sun! The oils found in avocados are also great for your hair as they act as a humectant which traps moisture.
There are some great recipes for skin treatments as well as great meals on this website, check it out, http://avocadosfrommexico.com/beauty-treatments.aspx.
