Chili’s has always been known for bold, Southwest flavors and we wanted to expand our menu offerings for those looking for a fresh take on the Tex Mex cuisine. This led us to create two Fresh Mex bowls — the Chipotle Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl and the Margarita Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl – as well as Enchiladas and create-your-own Southwest Pairings starting at $8.
Chipotle? Margarita? I’M IN! I knew I had to try one of the new Fresh Mex Bowl’s, so off to Chili’s we went.
-
Chipotle Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl – marinated grilled chicken, house-made corn and black bean salsa, rice and chipotle pesto layered with cheddar cheese, house-made pico de gallo, fresh field greens, chopped cilantro, crispy tortilla strips, fresh sliced avocado and a drizzle of cumin-lime sour cream.
- Margarita Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl – marinated grilled chicken, house-made corn and black bean salsa, rice and black beans topped with house-made pico de gallo, fresh field greens, chopped cilantro, crispy tortilla strips, fresh sliced avocado and a drizzle of margarita sauce.
When our food arrived, I was so quick to dig in that I nearly forgot to take pictures. Thankfully I did remember and managed to snap a few in the dimly lit room before digging in.
- Green Chile Chicken Enchilada
- Sour Cream Chicken Enchilada
- Beef Enchilada
- Cheese Enchilada

To end my review, I just want to say how pleased I always am with this restaurant. No matter which one we visit, we always have fantastic service, and this night was no exception. We had two rather grumpy kids with us, one of which delayed us in ordering. Our waitress was more than patient and friendly, which a tired mom needs on her side sometimes. When our food finally came, my daughter noticed one little mistake with her meal, which we weren’t even going to mention. Unbeknownst to us, the waitress had caught the error and showed up with a whole new dish for my daughter about 10 minutes later. We had told her it wasn’t necessary but she wanted to right the wrong anyway, for which we were grateful. On top of all that, there was a mishap at the table and a cup of ranch splattered to the floor. Without breaking a sweat, our waitress and another had it mopped up and back to normal before we could even sit back down again. Their attitudes were lovely and kind at a time when a child was upset and embarrassed — I couldn’t have been more appreciative.
Thank you to Chili’s for this opportunity to try one of their new dishes! Be sure to get to your local Chili’s Grill & Bar as soon as you can and partake of the yumminess. I know we will be again soon. Hopefully our waitress won’t mind!
