The force is strong at Disney’s Club Penguin! The most epic and anticipated in-world party ever, the Star Wars Takeover event, is coming to Club Penguin Island on July 25th. Check out the trailer of the upcoming epic event:
Monsters University comes to Disney’s Club Penguin in New Terror-ific Event
Disney’s Club Penguin, the #1 virtual world for kids, is partnering for the first time with Disney•Pixar to throw the Disney•Pixar “Monsters University” Takeover event. Today through July 9th, players can enroll in Monsters University on Club Penguin Island and pledge three different rival fraternities and one sorority to compete in the Scare Games. We just saw the movie and it’s so great, this is a perfect accompaniment for my youngest two kids!
While competing in the Scare Games by earning scare points for their fraternity or sorority, members will be able to dress up as their favorite characters from the Disney•Pixar film “Monsters University,” like Mike and Sulley. In their monstrous disguises, members can test out their roar and creep around campus to earn their own scare points. On July 6, the winning fraternity or sorority will be announced, and all players can collect the Scare Games Trophy. Additionally, the Monsters University amphitheater will be decorated in the winning team’s colors.
During the Disney•Pixar “Monsters University” Takeover event on Club Penguin Island:
- Everyone can fill up their scare canister with scare points in an all-new mini-game where players practice their best scare tactics
- All players can collect fraternity and sorority hats to show their pride when they join a team and can also earn monster accessories for their epic roars. Members will receive the hats and accessories, plus the ability to purchase exclusive “Monsters University” costumes with their virtual coins
- New igloo items are available for members to buy in the Furniture Catalog. Some featured items include the Scoreboard, Scare Canister, Ping-Pong Table, Lounge Chair, Archway and more

Disney’s Club Penguin Epic Event: Members Suit Up as Marvel Super Heroes & Villains
Perfect timing after spending last week in Hollywood promoting the Iron Man 3 movie premiere, I can come home and let my kids have their share of Marvel and Disney fun! Penguins are once again assembling as Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains in Disney’s Club Penguin, the #1 virtual world for kids, for this year’s all-new Marvel Super Hero Takeover event. I just love how all these penguins represent something that means so much more to me now!
Now through May 7th, penguins will be called to defend the city of Penguintropolis and bring members dressed as Marvel Super Villains to justice before they take over with their destructive robots. After choosing sides, members can suit up in over 25 Marvel costumes like Super Heroes Iron Man, She-Hulk, Captain America and Sif or the more mischievous ensembles of Marvel Super Villains like the Mandarin and Loki. Having gotten to see Iron Man 3 before the general public, I know a little about the Mandarin and my insider view will keep me giggling to myself until the movie is out!
“Last year’s partnership event with Marvel was extremely popular, and at that time, became the most-trafficked event in our history,” said Chris Heatherly, Vice President and General Manager, Disney Interactive Worlds. “This year we’ve made the Marvel Super Hero Takeover Event even more epic for players with twice the amount of Marvel Super Hero and Super Villain costume options and deeper, more action-packed gameplay and storylines.”
During the Marvel Super Hero Takeover event:
- Members can suit up in 27 different Marvel Super Hero and Super Villain costumes, while all players can dress as cops, robbers and civilians
- Super Heroes can plan their defense strategy in the Hero Lab, while Super Villains can scheme in the Villain HQ, building eight different kinds of destructive robots
- Members can buy new super igloos like the Secret Base, an impenetrable HQ perfect for Super Heroes, while Super Villains will feel right at home in the new Creepy Cavern
- Marvel costumes feature characters from the new animated series “Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.” including She-Hulk, A-Bomb, Red Hulk and Skaar. The series premieres August 11 inside Marvel Universe on Disney XD. Club Penguin fans of “Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man” can also dress up just like Iron Spider. And don’t forget Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Thor, who assemble in “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble” with a one-hour preview May 26 and launching on July 7 inside Marvel Universe on Disney XD.
My kids have been playing Club Penguin for over 5 years and I too have enjoyed playing it myself. I can’t wait to see the Iron Man suit on my daughter’s penguin!

Disney’s Club Penguin: Coins for Change Event #CoinsforChange
My 3 kids have been playing Club Penguin, the #1 virtual world for kids, for years. I love that site, and even have fun playing some games myself. At Club Penguin, the holidays mean giving back and empowering our kids to do the same. Players will be changing the world through online play as part of their annual Coins for Change event.
Running from December 20 through January 2, Coins for change helps players celebrate the true meaning of the holidays by donating the virtual coins that kids earn playing games online in Club Penguin to real-world causes that matter!
For this year’s event, Coins for Change will transform Club Penguin into the biggest virtual bake sale ever with players baking virtual cookies and buying them with their virtual coins. Each coin acts as a vote to influence where Club Penguin’s one million US dollar donation will go. The votes determine the percentage of donations made in 3 areas, providing medical help, building safe places, and protecting the earth.
Through programs like Coins for Change, Club Penguin has given a total of 9 million USD to charities all over the world further raising social consciousness among the millions of players who take part in the online community!
*20 schools have been built for over 20,000 children
*25 school libraries have been built for over 50,000 children
*27 playgrounds have been built for over 85,000 children
*33 clean water projects have been implemented for over 50,000 children & families
*Youth engagement & education programs around the world have been implemented for over 1,000,000 children & families
