With my busy schedule, I often miss the most important meal of the day, breakfast! A cup (or 3) of coffee is something that can hold me over to lunch, but when we’re on the road it’s a different story. If you have kids, you know they are always hungry and on a recent road trip, we needed to stop for some fuel to kickstart our day, IHOP for breakfast!
IHOP®, the restaurant known for “Everything you love about breakfast” is introducing its latest breakfast innovation: Brioche French Toast. These thick-cut slices of rich round brioche bread are soaked in a lightly-sweetened vanilla batter and grilled to a delicate warm golden crispiness that is perfectly ready to layer with three flavorful varieties of toppings. They are currently offered in restaurants now!
While my kids eat pancakes, and my husband likes lunch for breakfast, I ordered the Brioche French Toast because I order french toast frequently when we’re dining out. Brioche French Toast comes in three delicious and distinctively new flavors:
- Bananas Foster Brioche French Toast comes with a New Orleans Foster’s sauce made with sliced bananas, caramelized in a buttery brown sugar glaze, and whipped topping.
- Berry Berry Brioche French Toast layers blueberries and strawberry topping with a luscious dusting of powdered sugar and whipped topping.
- Peaches & Cream Brioche French Toast combines sweetened sliced peaches, honey-roasted pecans and vanilla cream drizzle with a dollop of whipped topping.
I love strawberries so I ordered the Berry Berry Brioche French Toast and part of the “regular combo” I was also delivered 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, and hash browns. Right away I knew that this deal was amazing for the amount of food you get, $5.99 for all of this:
I worried that 1. I wasn’t going to finish my meal (it can honestly be shared!), and 2. that the Brioche French Toast would be too sweet. A couple of bites into the meal, the bread is thick and really counters the powdered sugar and berry topping. The bites of fruit are plump and juicy and I am surprised that it isn’t as sweet as I had imagined, which is good! My waitress accidentally omitted the whipped cream, but I appreciated it because it may have sent the meal over the top into the dessert realm! It was good and yes, there was too much food, so next time I’m sharing. Just think how inexpensive that breakfast will be!
