Mangos are sweet and delicious and remind me of our travels to Hawaii when we tend to consume them regularly. Though we enjoy them, they just haven’t been on our radar or in our kitchen much as the kids have grown up, so we recently had the chance to really enjoy them.
Are mangos good for you?
In addition to sumptuous tropical flavor, mangos deliver a host of nutrients and make healthy eating a delightful sensory experience. The versatile mango is available year round and adds delicious flavor to a balanced diet. One cup of mangos is just 100 calories, so it’s a sweet treat that won’t weigh you down. Mangos are a true superfruit, containing over 20 different vitamins and minerals and each serving is fat-, sodium-, and cholesterol-free. One serving of mangos provides 100% of your daily vitamin C needs and 35% of your vitamin A needs, both important antioxidant nutrients. Vitamin C promotes healthy immune function and collagen formation. Vitamin A is important for vision and bone growth. Mangos also provide 12% of your daily dietary fiber requirement.
