My daughters need a positive role model for young girls and encourage them to “believe in themselves” and realize with “hard work and commitment to a dream, anything is possible”— a vision every Supergirl shares.  Who is a supergirl?  Any girl who works hard and believes that she is doing her best to make her dreams come true.  JCPenney and five-time Olympic Medalist and World Champion Nastia Liukin launched her fun, affordable lifestyle collection, Supergirl by Nastia last summer and now’s the time to join the movement!  A huge fan of Liukin and gymnastics, I check out this clothing line and knew it would be perfect for my daughter to make her feel confident.

The Supergirl by Nastia collection features trend-right, affordable apparel that encourages a message of empowerment, creativity, strength, intelligence and independence—the symbolic attributes and S-Shield of Supergirl, the iconic DC Comics super heroine. The collection, created for today’s 4-12-year-old girls, will be available exclusively at JCPenney – in stores and on jcp.com. The line retails from $20 – $38, making it affordable and exciting for girls to style themselves like a Supergirl. The collection will include active fleece, dresses and tunics, knit pants, signature Supergirl tees, dancewear, fashion leggings, shrug tops and more.

At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Liukin’s total of five medals tied the U.S. gymnastics record for most medals in one Olympic Games, currently held by Mary Lou Retton (1984) and Shannon Miller (1992).

Our Take-Whether or not you’re an athlete, these clothes make a statement.  They are adorable, quality made, and the shield logo speaks volumes for confidence. We got the Shield Tee with Sequins and it’s unique cut (shorter in front and back and long on the sides) was perfect over leggings.  It ties in the back for great sizing and the shield on the front glistens in the light.

When I suggest the tee to put on, there’s a “YAY!” and a skip in her step.  When she first wore it to school, everyone noticed it and called her supergirl, and that’s got to be a great feeling.  The tee comes with a stretchy, sequined bracelet, that reminded me of something Wonder Woman wore on her wrists.  I love the line and the leotard is adorable and next on my list to purchase for dance class!!

The prices are right on this line of apparel and it really sends a positive message.
