I’m always open to hearing about the latest and greatest technology out there, especially when it means getting more bang for your buck! I traveled to the Bay Area last week for a Sprint event to learn more about their network changes, device updates, and how they continue to shape the mobile provider space. Sprint may not be my current network provider, but it is for my son and he will sing praises to them daily for such amazing service and strong signal strength wherever we are. A 77 mile jaunt and what should have taken just over an hour to attend, took me 2.5 hours due to horrendous traffic. Ultimately what I discovered about Sprint has me second guessing my own plan and nearly forgetting all about that long drive!
Stepping into the Radio Shack store where the event was being held, we learned Sprint recently bought 1400 Radio Shack stores nationwide settling down rumors that the stores were going out of business. As far as technology is concerned, this is a win for both companies and customers are offered a one-stop shop for their phone needs and more convenient locations. That’s just the start of their customer service mission.
Here are 3 ways Sprint is upping their mobile and customer service game as we learned throughout the day!
1. PREPAID PLANS
Before I had a smartphone I used prepaid phone plans, they were convenient, fool-proof, and there was no contracts involved. 2. DIRECT 2 YOU
If you’re like me, you may dread going into your network store to get things done, waiting in line is the hardest part. Now in over 20 major metropolitan areas, Sprint brings the store experience to you, whenever and wherever you want it. Sometimes your network store is in the next town and you don’t want to leave home, no problem! Direct 2 You will come to your house, your office or any other location to upgrade or deliver your new device. Set up an appointment via their 800 number or online and a Sprint expert will come on your time to your specified location to get your phone set up, content transferred, and give you a personal phone training.
This is genius, convenient, and just great customer service. I don’t want to diminish their in-store hospitality and knowledge either though, their store workers know their phones and plans and can answer any question you throw at them!
3. iPHONE FOREVER
It’s not a secret, I am still using the iPhone 5c. Since my first iPhone, I’ve always been in the middle of my current 2-year contract when the upgraded phones were released. Sprint wants customers to know about their iPhone Forever plan. This means that when you lease an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, when the next generation iPhone launches, simply bring it back and upgrade to the newest iPhone. Anytime one is available. Forever. Pretty unbelievable right?

4. The LG G4 Phone
A great perk of attending this event was that I get to try out the LG G4 smartphone for 3 months! Sprint is carrying this next generation G series smartphone from LG that takes photography to the next level! I’m a shutterbug, growing up my father was an amateur photographer and I’ve taken up the craft in my work and play. The LG G4 has a whopping 16MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP front-facing camera for those selfie moments. That is DOUBLE what I currently use and I’m loving this trial run for the camera first and foremost! No need to carry around a backup camera when this smartphone can create production quality prints 11″X17″ with 300dpi. Let’s not forget the sheer size of the screen, at 5.5″ people with aging eyes like me are grateful!

The only challenge with the LG G4 is that it works on the Android platform, so coming from iOS I’m having my son give me tips and pointers!
Sprint is so much more than great signal strength, they are truly a company that wants to please the customer and offer the latest and greatest technology existing.
