The kids love Disney’s Phineas and Ferb, even my husband enjoys the humor of these two boys always looking for “something to do today.” They are hugely popular on the Disney Channel right now, have a great line of toys, and I recently saw they are now modeled in macaroni by Kraft. We got a chance to try out the new Phineas and Ferb Voice-inator. Anything with -inator at the end links anyone familiar with the television show to Dr. Doofinschmirtz’ evil genius.
The toy allows over 5 voice changing effects that with a push of a button can disguise, and alter your voice. With clever use, you can fool others by assuming alternate identities!
* Disney’s Phineas and Ferb toy from Jakks Pacific
* Multiple devious Doof phrases!
* Requires 2 AAA batteries (not included)
I handed over the toy to my 5-year old (and my 10 year old got in on the action too) to see if they could make it work, watch below:
My take: The kids have played “spies” with it since we’ve had it. I don’t think it works that well, most of the time is just sounds like “WHAWHAWHA” and the voice isn’t cleary articulated with the effects. The dial on the side didn’t work for us, though every once in a while, I hear my son’s voice come out clear through it. I know the kids get a kick out of it, but it retails at for $9.99 and I think that’s too high for the so-so action of it, I wouldn’t purchase it for a gift, it just adds noise upon noise.
