Popsicle is a name that you can always find in my freezer. Grandma and Grandpas house too (but in the sugar-free variety!). You can always count on the flavor to be top notch. A new flavor has hit the market…Jolly Rancher Popsicles, one of my husband’s favorite hard candy in ice pop form. We got to sample the summer treat and I’m a green apple Jolly Rancher fan, and my husband loves cherry, best part, you get a little of all 4 flavors in one popsicle. Biting into the green apple, you get hit with a burst of sour!! The flavor is 100% identical to the hard candy! Cherry, blue raspberry, and grape flavors are a bit fruitier, less sour. My kids and husband were hooked and could eat two or three at a time…I prefer a good root beer popsicle to be honest, this was a tad too sour for me.
Also, Popsicle wants to help protect the earth and is teaming up with National Geographic Kids on a campaign to slow the melt of the polar ice caps! I know my oldest daughter is big into recycling, saving energy, and a big “save the whales” fan…these tips were created just for kids by National Geographic Kids. I can let you know that I have 2 “police” officers in the house ages 9 and 11 that are going to make sure we’re doing all these 10 things as much as possible!
Here’s 10 Things You Can Do To Help
-Switch off the light every time you leave a room.
-Turn off the TV or video game and play outside.
-Ride a bike or walk instead of using the car.
-Take short showers instead of baths. Aim for five minutes-but still get clean!
-Turn over used paper and use it for artwork or scrap paper.
-Turn off the water while brushing your teeth.
-Participate in clean up days at a beach or park.
-Scrape leftovers off dishes and into the trash instead of rinsing the food off. Then wash them.
-Drink from a reusable water bottle. All those single-serve bottles create waste in production and pollution with delivery.
-Place your desk next to a window and use natural light instead of a lamp
