Last weekend we finally got around to painting my Tween’s room. All summer we’d discussed painting it, and time got away from us. Not to mention, we were kinda hoping she’d change her mind. Originally, her room was a cream color with a pink stripe around the room, had been like that since she was a toddler. Now, the color was to be turquoise, a big change!
To help with the job, we had HomeRight‘s PaintStick E-Z Twist paint roller and the 5.5 Pro Medium Duty Paint Sprayer. Knowing it’s only a 10′ X 10’ space, we were excited at the quick time we envisioned finishing with these tools, and we put them to the test.
The E-Z Twist features:
• Holds paint in the handle – draw paint directly from can. No back and forth to the tray
• Simply twist the handle to move paint to the roller
• No-tray painting eliminates spills
• Handle easily reaches ceilings and high walls without a ladder
• Snap-on Spatter Shield to protect floors and ceilings
• Quick, easy cleaning
• Two-year warranty
OurTake: The EZ-Twist was easy to assemble, though we did struggle a bit with drawing the paint up into the stick. We trouble-shot to avoid the air getting trapped. Once we got it working, my husband painted the walls in no time! We took turns and the twisting was smooth and easy and comfortable in your hands. The splatter shield was nice to have to avoid additional messes.
The Paint Sprayer features:
• Applies one gallon of paint in 11 minutes
• 10” Wide Fan Spray provides smooth even finish without brush stokes or roller marks
• Suction Tube draw paint or stain directly from the can
• Three spray tips – the right one for every job
• Variable flow control adjusts for optimum spray pattern
• Two-year warranty
• Used for: Oil & Latex Paint, Sealers, Stains & Waterproofers
Like I mentioned, we were painting a small room this time around, when we used the Pro 5.5 we thought it was too much for the small quarters but we were pleasantly surprised. The setup was easy, but the machine itself is LOUD, when we use it again we’re going to remember earplugs. The spray was nice and even and it made for quick work over the one wall that has paneling over the drywall. It got into all the grooves and nooks and it almost didn’t need a second coat!
The Paint Stick runs for $39.99 and the Pro 5.5 runs for $89.99. They are fabulous if you’re doing some room makeovers and really want to save time. Saturday my husband primered the room and Sunday he finished the job and is ready to make quick work out of our next painting project.
Not to mention, my Tween was THRILLED with the results!
