I don’t want to scare anyone, but there are only 36 days left until Christmas! You can scream and yell and run in circles, but it’s true and if you’re like me, I haven’t done a lick of shopping yet. Something I used to do when the kids were a lot younger was buy items for holidays and birthdays that were unique to them. They were personalized items like the ones you can find at Bright Star Kids and most often they had their names on them (which were also quite unique). As a youngster, I had everything that was pre-personalized in my name available to me. That was thanks to mom naming me the most common name there is. My kids have unique names and will probably never find their name on those already made items, so taking an extra step was something I’ve always done for them!
Those items are so special and we’ve kept so many of them and my younger kids have worn those of the older kids and it’s really cute! Now that we have tons of nieces and nephews, it’s time to continue the tradition with them as well as giving grown up versions to friends and family, here are a few ideas on how to put together a personalized memorable gift for the holidays!
PERSONALIZED GIFT IDEAS
1. Gift a shadow box with the item. If you’re buying a shirt that says “Baby’s 1st Christmas” pair that with a picture frame to commemorate the day and maybe an ornament or tiny Christmas tree so when the outfit is outgrown, it’s an instant keepsake! The possibilities are endless when you think of likes, themes, sports, etc!
2. Personalize jewelry for that special someone. I rarely wear jewelry but my main pieces are my wedding rings and my mother’s ring. I’ve always wanted one of those necklaces with my name, another thing I’d probably do for my girls since their monikers are so unique.
3. Practical and personalized is right up my husband’s alley. Make a photo calendar for the office that includes special event reminders so HE won’t forget (hint hint).
4. My friend is getting married next year and I know she loves wine, but take the gift up a notch and pair it with a monogrammed decanter with her new last name initial and some wine charms.
5. Use Bright Star Kids as inspiration and get little ones in on the action Find your favorite item from their site and recreate it using fabric paint, stencils, buttons, ribbons, etc! This is great for new siblings and guaranteed to make everyone go AWW!

Too cute for words. I’d love to get my children some personalized gear for them to open Christmas morning.
