So my husband and I are reading the Fifty Shades of Grey series together, though maybe a little late to the party, it was our Christmas present to each other. We are learning what the hype is all about. It’s not our typical choice from the bookstore or our iLibrary, but let’s just say we’re enjoying this “love story with a kick!” For our next holiday present to each other, we’ll be in line to see the movie when it hits theaters Valentine’s weekend!
Fifty Shades of Grey is the hotly anticipated film adaptation of the bestselling book that has become a global phenomenon. Since its release, the “Fifty Shades” trilogy has been translated in 52 languages worldwide and sold more than 90 million copies in e-book and print—making it one of the biggest and fastest-selling book series ever. Fifty Shades of Grey is being directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and produced by Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti alongside E L James, the creator of the series. The screenplay is by Kelly Marcel, with revisions by Patrick Marber and Mark Bomback.

Stepping into the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, who have become iconic to millions of readers, are Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson.
Joining them in the cast are Ana’s roommate and her closest friend.

My opinions…well I think the role of Ana is very fitting from what I’ve seen in the trailer, very innocent and pure for the first movie. I envisioned Christian to be of slightly bigger build than Jamie Dornan, he seems too slight. Maybe Chris Evans could have fit the bill nicely. Rita Ora looks exactly what I envisioned Mia to be as well as Kate and Taylor! Marcia Gay Harden should be fabulous as Grace!

(Fifty Shades of Grey: Cast Character Posters, New TV Spot, & Movie Tickets Available Now! #FiftyShades) I have to be brutally honest here. This is for sure not my type of movie. I know a bunch of my friends will probably flock to go and see it, but I will not be one of them-
Honesty is best, to each their own. I saw beyond the more controversial ideas in the books to see the love story, ultimately based on fiction.
This is my first time reading this genre, I may never delve into it again, and I’m sure there’s plenty out there far worse than this in content. Thanks for commenting! 😉
