Jord Wood Watch Review

Have you seen a Jord wood watch?  They are beautifully made out of wood….yes wood!  When given the opportunity to try one of their watches, I jumped at the chance because my husband is a woodworker.  I struggle to find unique gifts for him and I  thought a Jord watch would be perfect.

I chose the Sully series Black & Maple watch.  It retails for $139, which is definitely more in my price range than the watches my husband usually looks at.  Jord has done a great job of packaging the watch in an elegant box that perfectly shows of the craftsmanship of the watch when you open it.  I gave my husband his watch as a Valentine’s Day present, but any of their watches would be perfect for any gift. Graduations, anniversaries, and weddings would all show their importance with a gift of the quality found in a Jord watch.

The watch features large face numbers, which are easy to see.  It is designed to be splash proof, but not for complete submersion, which is good because with 4 children on the swim team and a family who likes to fish, we are always near the water!  Jord has an easy to use wrist measuring system.  Print out their measuring tape and measure your wrist.  For an extra $10 they will size the watch for you so it’s ready to wear when you receive it!  I would suggest taking into account hand size when sizing.  My husband has rather wide hands, so we had to request another link from Jord in order to fit it over his hand.  They also suggest using a jeweler for any adjustments that need to be made.

So does he like his Jord watch?  He not only likes it, he LOVES it!  He had never heard of Jord before and was very surprised to see it was made of wood.  I heard lots of compliments to the craftsmanship of the watch and what beautiful wood was chosen to make it with.  The release clasp was a concern at first.  My husband thought it was going to bug him as it sticks out a little, but after wearing the watch he no longer notices it at all.  He also loves the richness of the wood after wearing it.  The wood is picking up the oils from his skin and giving a nice sheen to the band and keeping the woods a dark rich color.  My husband also loves the weight of the watch.  He has never had a watch that is so light to wear.  I like that it is holding up on his wrist since he can be a bit rough on watches.  Now if I can get him to be a bit more on time!
