To me, there’s nothing that makes housework more bearable than some great music. It’s for this reason that, on any given day, you may walk into my house to find me vacuuming away and rocking out. Unfortunately, you may also witness my earbud cord getting wrapped around the vacuum handle thus yanking them forcefully from my ears. Funny for you but a bit of a bummer for me.

Enter the new LuguLake 6W Portable Bluetooth Speaker With Stand Dock. I was excited to try this product out and see if it would provide enough clarity and volume to help me through the heavy chores. We moms can use all the help we can get to liven up the everyday “must-dos”.

When the bluetooth speaker arrived, it needed charging and didn’t come with a wall charger. It does have a USB charger but all the laptops were turned off and I wanted to get rocking as quickly as possible. In an uncharacteristically rookie move, I plugged the shiny new speaker in in my 15 year old son’s room. Needless to say, my first exposure to the clarity of sound in this cool little unit was not as I planned. I pictured dusting away to a little classic Bon Jovi or mopping while doing a little Uptown Funk. Instead, I heard Eminem blaring from upstairs. Clearly, the speaker was super easy to pair with the bluetooth on my son’s iPod. Without the box, instructions (or my permission) he was up and running in minutes. Over the next several days he seemed to carry it with him constantly when he was home. Even brought it into my car a few times to share his “music” (I use the term lightly. We don’t share the same musical tastes all the time.).

In the last couple weeks, I’ve managed to get custody of the speaker several times and I’m impressed. It pairs effortlessly to any phone or mp3 player that’s bluetooth enabled. It’s battery lasts FOREVER (seriously, we’ve only charged the thing a couple times in 2 weeks). This is a good thing because I would have loved to have a wall charger included. It’s not always convenient to plug into a computer. The battery life makes up for the small inconvenience.

I chose classic silver but it’s available in other colors. Maybe if I’d gotten hot pink my son would have left it alone. As a die-hard SF Giants fan I will not hold it against LuguLake that they offer the speaker in “dodger blue”. Super lightweight, this thing goes anywhere. The range is great. Never lost the connection while I spiffed up the whole bottom floor of my house. The fact that it’s a speaker AND a stand is great in the kitchen. I had it paired to my phone but used the stand for my tablet while I was following a recipe. Awesome double-duty feature. The sound is also impressive. Very clear and doesn’t get distorted at higher volume.

This little speaker stand is a great, affordable way to take your music with you anywhere and everywhere. Just make sure you hide it from your teenagers.
