Lauren Nicole Gifts: Child’s Artwork Key Chain

My boys are growing up faster than I care to think about. It seems like every time I blink they’ve grown an inch. Sometimes it feels like a foot! Getting quality time with them isn’t easy since they have much better things to do than “hang out” with their un-hip mom. So, when I had the chance to review a piece of jewelry from Lauren Nicole Gifts made from my kids art I literally jumped at the chance.

Lauren Nicole specializes in hand stamped silver personalized jewelry and hand made family keepsake jewelry. All of our designs are hand made to order just for you. Our unique designs include handwriting, baby footprint, baby hand print, child’s artwork, monogrammed, wax seal and mommy jewelry. We would love to design something just for you!

I’m not a big jewelry wearer –but I love all things shiny!! So I perused the website and it took a while because there are LOTS of choices. Finally I found the 1” Sterling Silver Child’s Artwork Key Chain. It was right up my alley – only thing was, I have 2 boys, so I was hoping it could be double-sided.

The folks at Lauren Nicole Gifts were super accommodating and said no problem (for a VERY small charge). Now I just needed to get the boys to draw me something. Getting them to sit down for more than 3 seconds is a feat in itself.

They went back and forth between drawing a picture and just writing a saying. I finally decided on the sayings. The sayings are an “inside joke” between me and each of the boys individually. It’s something sweet they will STILL share with me!!

The quality of the key chain is really nice. It is The charm is a 1” Sterling Silver rectangle and has a 1” in diameter Stainless Steel key ring. The weight is substantial in your hand AND the detail is amazing. It is an exact replica of what I sent her. It shines just like I like! 😉 They were SUPER helpful, like I said, letting me personalize it to be double sided and the shipping was super-fast!

Now whenever I’m feeling like they’ll be off to college and married tomorrow, I can look at my key chain and bring back all the wonderful memories of sleepless nights, diaper changing, the terrible twos, and threes, the evening homework fights, the nagging to clean-up your room and eat all your broccoli, the teenage “attitude”, the endless driving to and fro…and know I wouldn’t change it for the world!

Shopping at LOFT by Ann Taylor

Shopping at LOFT by Ann Taylor reminds me of my high school and college years. The nearby outlet store was my first stop on shopping excursions finding the best styles at reduced prices.

Last week I headed over to check out the deals and do a little shopping. When I walked in, I was excited to see so many sales, buy one get one free and of course the large clearance selection that had prices slashed 40% with additional 40% off.

LOFT has a large selection of clothing for the working woman. I work out of my home, so I can’t justify the suits, but are they gorgeous! A lot of the dresses can be used for the office, special occasions, and they also have a great selection of summer dresses for everyday.

As a shorter woman, I’m pleased that almost half the store is devoted to petite fashions and pants can fit me without having to take them to a tailor. There’s also jewelry galore, shoes, and so much more.

I chose a few v-neck tops that were buy one get one free and a great long sweater with short sleeves. The tops can be worn alone or with the sweater or a button up shirt, they have the slightest cap sleeve that I love. The long sweater is a neutral color that can be worn over jeans, a dress, or even over a tank and shorts like I wore the other day. It’s a comfortable sweater, not overly bulky or warm perfect for California summers.

My mom loves jewelry and when I was approached by the wonderful company, Twisted Sisters to do a review of their Never-ending Sentiments necklace I knew it would be perfect!

The Never-ending Sentiments is a steal at $25 for 3 discs on a 18 inch toggle-clasp chain. Add on for only $5 per each additional disc and $2.99 for each crystal. I made my mom a necklace for Mother’s Day. I wanted to think of 3 special attributes that have made her special to me. I decided on Mother, Grandmother, and Friend with blue (September) crystals in one disc plus 2 clear/white (April) crystals. My mom cried, she loved it, it was something special that as the discs spoke the sentiments, only I can can describe her this way! The necklace lays nicely across the chest and its a charming way to make a statement.

Holiday Gift Guide, 2010: Pearl Paradise

Last year I had the opportunity to work on a review/giveaway with PearlParadise, the amazing pearl necklace is worn with love on special occasions.

Diamond Earrings (even the faux kind) Class Up any Ear

Ever since I was little, I always was attracted to diamonds, I mean who isn’t? I loved the look of sparkly little studs in someone’s ear, not too flashy, but precious enough to look feminine and pretty. The only true diamonds I own are in my engagement ring, and I’m not too proud to wear faux diamonds so I was thrilled to work with DiamondEarrings.org on a review of their square-cut earrings! Bonus for me is that my engagement ring is also a square-cut making it that more unique and fun to try out.

The earrings come in a adorable black velvet heart box, so they are packaged ready to gift. The earrings have some substance to them, they are big and thick and will not get lost in view. The sparkle was amazing, I’ve had compliments on them and people are surprised when I have told them they are not real diamonds! I have very sensitive skin and wearing these for a few weeks now, I’ve had no problems with the metals!

The earrings are beautiful for any mom, grandma, aunt, sister, friend, but I really think that my tween would look beautiful in a pair. Especially when the investment isn’t going to break the bank if they get lost!
