When traveling, it is all too easy to let your fitness routine slide. In theory, there is no harm in letting this happen. But, in reality, for many people it turns out to be a bit of a disaster. Often, when they return home, they find it all but impossible to get back into the habit of working out. Sometimes they never do and end up putting on weight and, eventually, start to suffer from health issues. Fortunately, these days, most hotels, resorts and destinations provide fitness facilities for visitors. This means that it is actually very easy to continue to keep active while you travel. All you need to do is to plan ahead a little and pack the right gear.
Pack your workout clothes
Nobody likes to workout in uncomfortable clothing. When you try to do that you just end up getting too hot and sweaty. So, you really should pack your workout clothes, including a good sports bra. There are plenty of really nice ones that can easily be rinsed out and worn for sightseeing trips and nights out, during your stay. If you want to, you can wear your workout tops to the beach or for other activities like hiking, cycling and horseback riding.
Pack easy to wash sports clothing
You just need to make sure that you pack items that can easily be washed out. Ideally, you want them to be able to dry within a few hours of your washing them, so that is practical for you to wear them more than once.
The right footwear
It is really important to pack the right footwear. If you are planning to go horseback riding, climbing or hiking you need to be wearing the right boots, trainers or
shoes. Sandals are just not going to do the job. So, when you are deciding what type of footwear to pack think about the activities you are hoping to enjoy and
pack accordingly. Try to select something you can wear most days yet is stylish enough to wear for sightseeing and the journey.
Plan and book in advance
Before you book your holiday, find out what activities are available near to where you are planning to stay. It is also wise to check out how you are going to get to them. That way you avoid the disappointment of planning to go abseiling (rappelling) only to discover that the only way to get there is an expensive taxi ride.
